The Korean multiple launch rocket system “Cheonmu,” manufactured by Hanwha Aerospace, will be exported to Estonia. Among European countries, Estonia will be the second export destination for K-defense after Poland and the first in the Baltic region. The total export volume is EUR 300 million (about KRW 500 billion).
KOTRA announced on the 21st (local time) that it had signed a “government-to-government (G2G) export contract for the supply of the Cheonmu multiple launch rocket system” with the local Estonian Centre for Defence Investments (ECDI) at the Estonian War Museum in Tallinn. The ECDI is the defense materiel procurement agency under the Ministry of Defence, equivalent to Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration.

Under this contract, Hanwha Aerospace will supply six launchers and three types of missiles to Estonia over the next three years. KOTRA added that alongside the export contract, it also signed a “Cheonmu export framework arrangement” enabling long-term supply over 10 years, thereby establishing a sustainable export platform.
The contract is seen as increasing the likelihood of additional exports to Estonia in the future. KOTRA stated, “Estonia is drawing up plans to invest more than EUR 10 billion (about KRW 17.32 trillion) over the next four years in strengthening its defense capabilities under the ‘National Defence Development Plan 2026–2029 (KMAK),’” adding, “In line with this plan, Korean companies will be able to secure a favorable position for follow-on contracts.”

In connection with this export contract, KOTRA also signed separate cooperation memorandums of understanding with the Estonian Ministry of Defence and the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency (EIS). Through these agreements, KOTRA plans to promote the activation of future government-to-government contracts and to strengthen cooperation between Estonia’s defense ecosystem and “K-defense.”
In addition, the government and KOTRA expect that this export contract will help Korean defense companies expand their presence into the Nordic defense market going forward.
