Daekyung University announced on the 26th that it recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Burapha University in Thailand for the establishment of departments.

Accordingly, as early as August next year, six specialized departments of Daekyung University, including sports, cruise tourism, beauty, Korean language, entertainment, and Taekwondo, are expected to be established on the Burapha University campus.

These departments will be promoted through a joint operation method between the two universities. Daekyung University will be responsible for the composition of the faculty, curriculum development, and department operation, while Burapha University will provide the necessary campus environment, buildings, and facilities for the department installation. The agreement also includes the operation of joint research projects on Korean Wave (K) content, dispatch of Daekyung University's performance team, development of joint curriculum and establishment of a cooperation system for department establishment, establishment of a joint corporation, establishment of a partner cooperation system for each university's faculty, and promotion of establishment workshops.

Burapha University is a national comprehensive university celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. It is located in a coastal city in Chonburi Province, about an hour's drive from Bangkok Airport. It operates 22 faculties, 2 colleges, and 2 graduate schools, with approximately 1,400 full-time faculty members and about 30,000 students. It also operates branch campuses in Chanthaburi Province and Sa Kaeo Province, Thailand.

Lee Chae-young, President of Daekyung University, stated, "If our university's specialized education and departments are established at Burapha University, Daekyung University will leap forward as a specialized university leading the Asian education market based on K content."
