Lotte Property & Development announced on the 4th that it will apply 'Starlink' to the Lotte World Tower. Starlink is a satellite communication service established by Elon Musk's SpaceX.

Lotte Property & Development plans to enhance the fire and disaster prevention system of the Lotte World Tower by utilizing Starlink. A representative from Lotte Property & Development stated, "In emergency situations such as disasters, there is a high possibility of communication congestion causing disruptions at ground base stations," adding, "This makes communication between floors and within and outside the building difficult, complicating initial response efforts." By applying Starlink, communication is possible through low-orbit satellite communication without the need for ground base stations or submarine cables. The satellite-based Starlink ensures backup communication 24/7, even in situations where the communication network is lost. This means that communication will not be interrupted even in urgent disaster situations. Lotte Property & Development plans to install and pilot Starlink zones in two locations: the comprehensive disaster prevention center on the first basement level and the evacuation safety zone on the 22nd floor of the Lotte World Tower. There are plans to expand the Starlink zones to other evacuation safety zones and areas within the complex where crowds gather in the future.
