Samsung Electronics will review its global business strategy for the upcoming year over three days from the 16th to the 18th. This marks the first Global Strategy Meeting since the establishment of the new Business Support Office, Samsung Electronics' new control tower, drawing attention to whether the outline of Chairman Lee Jae-yong's envisioned 'New Samsung' will emerge.

According to industry sources on the 2nd, Samsung Electronics will hold the 'Second Half (July-December) Global Strategy Meeting' from the 16th to the 18th. The Device Experience (DX) division will meet on the 16th and 17th, while the Device Solutions (DS) division will convene on the 18th. Approximately 300 executives from headquarters and overseas subsidiaries will attend to share specific business plans, including regional production strategies and sales targets for the first half of next year (January-June).

There is also interest in whether Park Hak-kyu, head of the newly established Business Support Office, will attend. Previously, the Global Strategy Meeting was led by the heads of the DS and DX divisions, but with the leadership change, there is a possibility that Park may appear to address company-wide management issues.

The core agenda of the meeting is expected to focus on regional production and sales strategies. With global issues such as the finalization of country-specific tariffs by the U.S. and the restructuring of supply chains due to U.S.-China tensions, the need for concrete countermeasures has been consistently emphasized.

The DX division is noteworthy as it is the first strategy meeting for Roh Tae-moon, head of the division (President), since shedding the 'acting' label. Discussions are expected to address ways to alleviate cost burdens caused by high tariffs, high exchange rates, and semiconductor price increases. Strategies to enhance competitiveness in response to the influx of low-cost Chinese products are also anticipated to be on the agenda.

The DS division is expected to focus on discussions about expanding production capacity in response to the surge in demand for memory semiconductors such as high-bandwidth memory (HBM) due to the expansion of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry. Key tasks include allocation of client orders, yield management, and the expanded application of advanced processes.
