First Recipient Honored as 'AI Leader of the Year'

The tech startup PR specialist company 'Team Cookie (CEO Ryu Tae-jun)' announced on the 28th that it has won three awards in the corporate and individual categories at the 'Asia Agency of the Year Awards' selected by the global communication magazine Campaign. Notably, Deputy CEO Lim Ki-tae was named the first recipient in the 'AI Leader of the Year' category, reaffirming the company's tech PR expertise on a global scale.
Now in its 24th year, the 'Agency of the Year Awards 2025' (hereinafter referred to as the Awards) is the largest global agency awards ceremony in the Asia-Pacific region, organized by the world-renowned communication magazine 'Campaign Asia-Pacific.' It honors the most successful communication, digital marketing, and advertising creative companies and professionals across the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia and New Zealand. Each year, around 300 leading consulting firms and executives from various countries compete for the awards.
At the Korea/Japan integrated awards ceremony held on the 25th at the Grand Ballroom of the Conrad Hotel in Tokyo, Team Cookie received the Silver Prize in the 'Japan/Korea Independent Agency of the Year' category and was named Winner in the 'Japan/Korea Young Business Leader of the Year' category. In the newly established 'Japan/Korea AI Person of the Year' category for 2025, Deputy CEO Lim Ki-tae received a Commendation, being named the first recipient since its inception. Team Cookie was listed as a 'Finalist' in a total of eight categories, producing the most shortlisted entries among domestic companies.
Team Cookie is a tech startup PR specialist company established in 2022. It was co-founded by CEO Ryu Tae-jun, a former LG Electronics and CBS journalist, and Deputy CEO Lim Ki-tae, who previously worked in the PR strategy office of Namyang Dairy Products and as a brand manager for the global K-food brand 'Buldak.' Based in Korea, the United States, and Singapore, the company supports tech companies and startups across various sectors. It partners with AI, Web3 gaming, security firms, legal tech, edutech, entertech, HR tech, fintech, healthcare, K-beauty companies, short-form MCNs, retail commerce platforms, and global venture capital (VC). It also serves as a vice-chair company of the International Association for Artificial Intelligence Ethics (IAAE), contributing to the creation of a safe AI culture.
The Awards' official website introduced the winners, stating, "Team Cookie, a self-sustaining independent company in its third year without a parent group or investors, has redefined the boundaries of communication by turning 'impossible campaigns' into reality. From contributing to the establishment of national AI legislation to viral campaigns alleviating math anxiety among Korean students, it has demonstrated groundbreaking storytelling that resonates with both the public and the media, setting new benchmarks in the PR industry."
