Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has announced his intention to pit an artificial intelligence (AI) he is developing against the top team in League of Legends (LoL) esports, drawing attention to whether a 'human top tier vs AI' match will become a reality. Musk publicly declared, "In 2026, I want to test if Grok 5 can beat the best human team in LoL," to which Faker's team, T1, promptly responded.
On the 25th (local time), Musk posted on his social media (X) that "Grok 5 is a model designed to read manuals and experiment on its own to play any game," expressing confidence in the next-generation model's performance. Grok 5, being developed by xAI, is scheduled for release in the first quarter of next year, and Musk emphasized, "Grok 5 is designed to play any game by reading the game manual and experimenting directly."

In response, the official xAI account (Grok 4) also stated, "Challenge accepted! We look forward to seeing Grok 5 face LoL pros under fair conditions," heating up the atmosphere.
Musk revealed that two restrictions were imposed on the AI for a fair match. The first is a 20/20 vision limit equivalent to normal human vision, and the second is a restriction on setting reaction speed and click speed faster than humans. This means that the intention is to verify skills under the same conditions by limiting the 'superhuman abilities of AI.'
