무엇을, 왜 연구했나?
피드백은 직원들의 업무 능력을 향상하는 데 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 하지만 항상 효과적인 것은 아니다. 누가 피드백을 하는지, 피드백의 내용은 어떤지, 어떻게, 얼마나 자주 전달되는지, 얼마나 구체적인지 등에 따라 효과가 달라질 수 있다. 예컨대 한 연구 결과에 따르면, 신뢰하는 관리자가 긍정적인 피드백을 구두로 자주 줄 때 직원은 본인이 인정(recognition)받고 있다 느끼며, 발전하고 있다는 자신감(competence)과 성취감을 얻어 지속적으로 더 좋은 성과를 내려고 노력한다.
