The Lotte-Korea Brand Expo is a co-growth program aimed at supporting the overseas expansion of outstanding domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It is jointly organized by Lotte, the Foundation of Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership, and KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency).
This event, taking place from the 23rd to the 25th, will feature 50 outstanding domestic SMEs from various sectors such as beauty, food, and household goods. It will invite over 200 buyers from 76 companies across Europe, including Germany, Hungary, and Romania, to conduct export consultations.
Austria is a Central European market with high per capita GDP and purchasing power among OECD member countries. With growing interest in Korean products such as K-beauty and K-food across Europe, this event is expected to serve as a significant turning point for participating companies to enter the European market.
A Lotte representative stated, "The Brand Expo is a co-growth program that helps domestic SMEs expand overseas through Lotte's distribution capabilities and global network," adding, "We will actively support proving the competitiveness of Korean products in the Central European market with high purchasing power and expanding SME export performance."
Kang Kyung-sung, President of KOTRA, said, "As we enter the golden era of K-culture, we must further strengthen cooperation with K-distribution networks to expand the export of culturally linked consumer goods and improve K-export infrastructure." He added, "KOTRA will collaborate with the private sector, including Lotte, to expand mutually beneficial overseas expansion through K-culture and support the continuous export growth of our SMEs."
Meanwhile, the Lotte-Korea Brand Expo first began in Taiwan in 2016 and has been held 20 times in 17 countries, including Germany, the United States, Australia, and Vietnam. Lotte is organizing and operating programs focused on export consultations and promotional events to help outstanding domestic SMEs achieve tangible results in overseas markets. In fact, by the first half of this year, a total of over 1,460 SMEs participated in the Brand Expo, conducting more than 10,380 export consultations, with consultation results amounting to USD 1.15 billion (approximately KRW 1.65 trillion).
