Mediinfra Participates in ‘UN Public Procurement Market Exploration Mission’ in Thailand
Mediinfra has signed agreements with local companies in Thailand for product distribution and joint development, expanding its foothold for entry into the United Nations (UN) public procurement market. Although this has not yet led to an actual UN procurement contract, the company is simultaneously engaging with Thai buyers and UN agencies as it seeks to expand its overseas sales channels.
Mediinfra announced on the 28th that it participated in the “2026 UN Public Procurement Market Exploration Mission in the Healthcare Sector,” held in Bangkok, Thailand from the 14th to the 18th. The mission was jointly organized by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute and the Public Procurement Service, with participation from domestic companies in the digital health, pharmaceutical, and medical device sectors. Mediinfra is an affiliate of the SCL Group.
While in Thailand, Mediinfra held consultations with more than seven buyers and, on the 15th, signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with two organizations—FASICARE COMPANY LIMITED and AI MEDITECH CO., LTD—for product distribution and joint development research.
The company also visited the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bangkok to review procedures for entering the procurement market and explore potential areas of cooperation.
According to the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM), total UN procurement in 2025 reached USD 22.7 billion, with the healthcare sector accounting for the largest share at USD 5.2 billion. Procurement of pharmaceuticals, contraceptives, and vaccines alone amounted to USD 4 billion.
Unlike general exports, UN procurement contracts are concluded after processes such as tenders by individual international organizations, supplier registration, and verification of technical and quality standards. UNGM also classifies medical equipment and pharmaceuticals as key procurement items.
Kim Sang-cheol, CEO of Mediinfra, said, “Based on the partnerships established locally, the company will actively pursue the overseas market entry of its products and entry into the global public procurement market.”
