Samsung Electronics has completed a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) production line for FläktGroup in India.

Samsung Electronics held a completion ceremony on the 12th (local time) in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The event was attended by more than 100 participants, including Samsung Electronics DA Division Head Vice President Kim Chul-gi, FläktGroup CEO David Dorney, and other executives and business partners.

The new production line will serve as a manufacturing hub, together with the existing Noida production facility, to supply HVAC products to India and the Asia-Pacific region. Pune, where the production line is located, is an area where industrial infrastructure such as data centers is expanding and is considered advantageous for logistics due to its proximity to the Port of Mumbai.

The new production facility, including the production line, offices, and ancillary facilities, has been built on a total area of 13,826㎡ (approximately 4,190 pyeong). Construction of the equipment began early this year, and a mass production system was established in about six months. At full capacity, the facility can produce up to 6,500 units of HVAC equipment annually.

The Pune production line will manufacture air handling units (AHU), fan wall units (FWU), and computer room air handlers (CRAH). AHUs use chilled water to cool the air and manage air quality in data centers and large commercial buildings. FWUs are wall-mounted air-blowing units, and CRAHs are devices that precisely control the temperature and humidity of IT equipment in server rooms.

Vice President Kim Chul-gi said, “The completion of the Pune production line in India is an important milestone for expanding HVAC supply beyond India to the Asia-Pacific region,” adding, “By combining Samsung’s AI and platform technologies with FläktGroup’s HVAC capabilities, the company will deliver optimal value to a wide range of customers, including AI data centers.”

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics acquired FläktGroup last year for EUR 1.5 billion (approximately KRW 2.4 trillion). Based on more than 100 years of history and technical expertise, FläktGroup supplies solutions such as data center and large commercial facility central HVAC systems to the global market. Leveraging its long-standing track record, the company has about 10 production bases worldwide and a sales and service network spanning Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Asia.

Samsung Electronics is using FläktGroup’s technological capabilities and global network to expand its business portfolio from conventional residential HVAC into industrial and B2B segments.
