LG Innotek, benefiting from the expansion of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, surpassed KRW 10 trillion in sales for the first time ever on a first-half (January–June) basis. With record-high results in the second quarter of this year (April–June), operating profit also surged more than twentyfold in one year.

On the 27th, LG Innotek announced in a regulatory filing that its consolidated operating profit for the second quarter of this year was provisionally tallied at KRW 245.8 billion, up 2,057% from the same period a year earlier. Revenue increased 41% year-on-year to KRW 5.5272 trillion, the highest ever for a second quarter. Including the first quarter (January–March), cumulative first-half revenue reached KRW 11.0621 trillion, surpassing the KRW 10 trillion mark for the first time since the company’s establishment.

Despite the seasonal off-peak period, stable demand for mobile camera modules continued, while a sharp increase in the supply of high value-added semiconductor substrates played a decisive role. By business segment, revenue was KRW 4.5179 trillion for Optical Solution, which produces camera modules; KRW 498.4 billion for Package Solution, which includes semiconductor substrates; and KRW 510.9 billion for Mobility Solution. To respond to rising semiconductor substrate demand, LG Innotek will expand its production plant in Vietnam. Kyung Eun-guk, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of LG Innotek, stated, “By expanding facility investments and advancing technology, the company will firmly establish the Package Solution business as a core growth driver.”
