LG Chem announced on the 27th that it has received a “Top 10 Technologies” Excellence Award at “Chinaplas 2026,” a global plastics and rubber exhibition, for its specialty polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material, the Heat-Resistant Recycled Thermoplastic Resin (HRTP). It was the only award granted to a Korean exhibitor.

HRTP was selected as the “Innovation of the Year” at Chinaplas 2025 last year and has now had its technological capabilities recognized for a second consecutive year. HRTP is a high value-added material based on PVC that simultaneously delivers heat resistance, flexibility, and durability, which are essential for next-generation industries such as electric vehicles and robots. It can be applied to electric vehicle charging cables and high heat-resistant wires for automobiles and robots, and offers approximately 30% higher flexibility than existing materials while remaining stable even in high-voltage environments.
