Artificial intelligence healthcare startup COMPLEXION Co., Ltd. announced that it has developed a mood disorder management platform, “Mood Diary,” in collaboration with the Department of Neuropsychiatry at Seoul National University Hospital.

Mood Diary is a smartphone application that supports everything from basic mental health status assessments related to mood disorders such as depression to customized interventions based on daily behavior records. Outpatients can record their mood status and daily changes anytime and anywhere, while healthcare professionals can monitor this more systematically and utilize it in treatment.

In the course of this development, COMPLEXION simultaneously obtained partner approval for Samsung Health and Apple SensorKit, further advancing the platform to collect, analyze, and manage a wider range of sensor data, including step counts, with greater precision. The company explained that this has enabled more multidimensional mental health management based not only on patients’ subjective records but also on actual lifestyle data.

COMPLEXION is an AI healthcare company that won the CES 2025 Innovation Award in the Digital Health category, and has demonstrated technological competitiveness in the digital healthcare sector based on more than 20 patented technologies. It has also achieved strong results in a collaboration program with global company NVIDIA and has been continuously advancing its technologies through more than eight national R&D joint projects with Korea University’s Department of Computer Science and Department of Artificial Intelligence. Recently, it was selected as the lead managing institution for the 2026 Academia-Industry-Research Collabo R&D (consortium-type) project and is promoting the development of a global movement coaching platform for senior women.

COMPLEXION’s comprehensive healthcare technology is characterized by measuring more than 57 AI indicators covering physical, mental, and social factors via smartphones, and providing hyper-personalized AI exercise and conversational content based on these indicators. Through the development of Mood Diary, COMPLEXION has secured mental health management content that can be used in clinical settings, going beyond its existing wellness-focused services. As a result, it is expected to further strengthen its position as an integrated AI healthcare company that encompasses not only physical health but also mental health.

Professor Ahn Yong-min of Seoul National University Hospital, the overall principal investigator, stated, “Mood Diary is a comprehensive precision medicine platform that helps patients record their condition in everyday life and make effective use of this information in treatment, together with objective digital data,” adding, “Going forward, data-driven, personalized mental health management technologies will set a new standard for digital healthcare.”
