CM Hospital, a general hospital specializing in joints located in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, announced on the 4th that it has adopted Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s artificial intelligence (AI)-based smart ward monitoring system “thynC.”
Through the introduction of thynC, CM Hospital plans to raise the overall quality of care to a higher level by ▲ advancing the patient safety system ▲ improving work efficiency for medical staff ▲ enhancing the quality of medical services ▲ strengthening the emergency response system.
ThynC is equipped with a real-time integrated monitoring system that automatically detects patients’ vital signs 24 hours a day and immediately sends alerts to medical staff when abnormal signs occur. By detecting subtle changes in vital signs, it prevents situations that could lead to severe deterioration or safety accidents in advance.
Given the characteristics of a hospital specializing in joints, where a high proportion of patients are undergoing high-difficulty surgery or are elderly, close observation of vital signs is essential. CM Hospital expects that thynC will reduce the likelihood of safety incidents in the ward, such as falls, and significantly enhance its ability to respond to high-risk patients.
In addition to thynC, CM Hospital is operating a three-stage smart care system that “predicts” patient conditions in advance, “monitors” them in the ward, and “responds” immediately when abnormalities occur, by using various AI-based disease prediction platforms in combination. The hospital explained that it is building a ward operation model that goes beyond simple monitoring to proactively manage patient safety.
CM Hospital plans to use this implementation as a stepping stone to further advance its smart ward operation system to the level of a university hospital, while solidifying its status as South Korea’s leading joint-specialty hospital.
Lee Sang-hoon, Director of CM Hospital, said, “AI-based smart hospital systems will no longer be an option but a necessity in hospital operations,” adding, “CM Hospital will present a new standard in the field of patient safety through a smart care system centered on thynC.”
