The medical artificial intelligence (AI) company AIRS Medical announced on the 13th that its AI-based MRI acceleration solution 'SwiftMR' has achieved installation in over 1,000 locations worldwide as of August this year, recording an average annual growth rate of doubling since its launch. The company's deep learning technology reduces MRI scan time while improving image quality, which has been recognized by medical professionals and institutions globally.
Currently, installations in the United States have surpassed 300 locations, showing rapid growth in the North American market. This includes renowned general hospitals such as Northwestern Medicine, Georgetown University Hospital, Jefferson Health, University of Wisconsin, Trinity Health, and large radiology groups like RIA Radiology, Rayus Radiology, and US Radiology Specialists.
The European and South American markets also appear to maintain stable high growth. In the past six months alone, over 150 radiology centers in Brazil have adopted SwiftMR, and the expansion speed is accelerating with the start of cooperation with a local partner in Brazil in 2024. Strategic partnerships have been established in major South American countries such as Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Peru to spread AI MRI technology.
The European market is recording a growth rate of more than double compared to the previous year. To target the European market, strategic partnerships have been formed this year with Incepto, a major AI medical imaging platform in Europe, and Italian MRI equipment manufacturer Esaote, increasing market accessibility. Incepto is a platform capable of processing over 400,000 radiological examinations per month in 350 clinics across Europe, and integration with SwiftMR allows medical professionals to build more efficient workflows.
Experts attribute the rapid global spread of SwiftMR to its distinctive technical features compared to existing MRI AI solutions. Unlike existing solutions, SwiftMR implements a proprietary algorithm that reduces scan time while improving image quality without losing lesion information. Its vendor-neutral characteristic, compatible with all body parts, pulse sequences, and MRI equipment manufacturers, and seamless integration into existing workflows are major factors influencing medical institutions' choices.
Jina Park, head of AIRS Medical's North American branch, stated, "In the North American market, SwiftMR is gaining attention from customers by showing good performance in clinical performance and workflow efficiency, competing directly with existing MRI AI solutions," and evaluated that "it is particularly advantageous for showing stable performance even with existing MRI equipment and providing immediate 24-hour customer support."
Hye-Sung Lee, CEO of AIRS Medical, expressed, "We are pleased to be able to supply SwiftMR to medical professionals and patients throughout South America as demand for efficient MRI continues to increase," and added, "We will support our partners to maximize the potential of MRI equipment." He continued, "AI is transforming the field of radiology, and SwiftMR is contributing to that change," and stated, "We are proud to see medical professionals worldwide enhancing both MRI efficiency and image quality through our technology."
