The medical device startup Bitggal Co., Ltd. (CEO Kong Sung-ho) announced that it was recently invited to the 'G.R.E.A.T Bridge: SNUH IR Connect' demo day held at Novotel Ambassador in Dongdaemun, Seoul, where it introduced its business direction and vision for medical device development.

This event, co-hosted by Seoul National University Hospital and the National Research Foundation of Korea, was organized to facilitate practical connections and exchanges between promising startups in the bio-health sector and investors.

On this day, Bitggal, one of the startups from Seoul National University Hospital, was the third presenter among the seven Pre-A stage startups. The company garnered attention by introducing its soon-to-be-launched ultra-high-definition fluorescent laparoscope prototype, its technology development philosophy reflecting the actual demands of the laparoscopic surgery field, and its future platform expansion strategy.

Additionally, Bitggal explained its reinterpretation of the limitations of existing laparoscopic equipment from the perspective of medical professionals and its ongoing development of a high-performance laparoscopic system required in actual surgical settings. The company also announced plans to expand into a laparoscopic surgery platform that can integrate various functions beyond a single device.

The event was attended by various healthcare experts, including domestic and international venture capitalists (VC), accelerators (AC), and representatives from hospitals and research institutions. In addition to the IR presentations, the event included seminars, networking, and dinners, providing an opportunity to explore the growth potential and investment linkage possibilities of hospital startups.

Bitggal, founded in 2022 by Professor Kong Sung-ho of the Department of Surgery at Seoul National University College of Medicine, is accelerating the development of an intuitive and efficient surgical laparoscopic system based on the actual needs of medical professionals during laparoscopic surgery. With the prototype launch imminent, the company is conducting preclinical trials through multiple institutions. It is also preparing for approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Korea, with plans to support demo equipment to various hospitals to prove clinical utility after obtaining approval.

CEO Kong stated, "Based on clinical experience at Seoul National University Hospital, we are striving to solve problems in the operating room through technology," adding, "We will continue to work closely with hospitals and research institutions to create meaningful technology for both medical professionals and patients."
