Kia unveiled the Tasman military special-purpose derivative vehicle for the first time at Europe's largest defense exhibition. Kia announced on the 9th that it set up a promotional booth at the 'Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI UK) 2025' held in London, UK, and introduced a vehicle based on its pickup truck Tasman, modified to meet military vehicle specifications.

The Tasman derivative vehicle features enhanced rigidity and fording capabilities, tailored to the characteristics of military vehicles that must traverse rough terrains. It includes protective frames, water-resistant intake systems, and shelves installed in the cargo area. Kia also showcased the Small Tactical Vehicle (KLTV) at the exhibition, which can be customized in form according to its intended use. The vehicle consists of minimal structures such as frames and engines, allowing for the attachment of various accessories to suit specific purposes. It is capable of fording water up to 76 cm deep and climbing slopes with a 60% gradient. The vehicle is also equipped with bullet and explosive-proof features and is designed to start in temperatures as low as minus 32 degrees Celsius, according to the company.

Kia added, "The small tactical vehicle has been operated by the Korean military since 2016 and has recently been recognized for its technological prowess by being selected as the new standard vehicle for the Polish military."
