Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 8th that it has signed a final contract with a shipowner in the African region for a large floating liquefied natural gas production facility (FLNG) worth KRW 3,653.6 billion.

The FLNG covered by this final contract is scheduled to be delivered to the shipowner in 2028 after module installation and commissioning work. With this contract, Samsung Heavy Industries’ cumulative orders for this year have increased to a total of 30 vessels, worth USD 9.6 billion (about KRW 14.7 trillion). The company has achieved 69% of its annual order target of USD 13.9 billion. Specifically, in the commercial ship segment, it has secured orders for 28 vessels worth USD 5.2 billion (about KRW 8 trillion), consisting of 14 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, two very large ethane carriers (VLECs), four very large gas carriers (VLGCs), two container carriers, and six crude oil tankers. In the offshore segment, it has won orders for two FLNG units worth USD 4.4 billion, achieving 54% of its offshore order target of USD 8.2 billion.
