SK Hynix is partnering with Naver Cloud to verify and optimize the performance of artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors.

On the 10th, SK Hynix announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Naver Cloud to test-operate AI-specialized memory and storage products in Naver Cloud's large-scale data center infrastructure. The products in focus include SK Hynix's next-generation AI-specialized product line, such as Compute Express Link (CXL) and Processing In Memory (PIM).

SK Hynix stated, "To strengthen technological leadership in the global market, securing products verified in real data center environments is essential," and added, "Through this collaboration, we aim to implement data center-optimized AI solutions."

Recently, the spread of generative AI services has led to a sharp increase in the usage and cost of 'tokens' processed during inference. Tokens are the smallest units into which AI divides data for learning, generation, and inference. As a result, optimization between hardware like memory in data centers and software has emerged as a critical factor determining service competitiveness.

Ahn Hyun, President and Chief Development Officer (CDO) of SK Hynix, stated, "Through rigorous verification in actual commercial environments, we will provide the highest level of memory solutions demanded by the global AI ecosystem, solidifying our position as a leading company in AI memory."
