Homecast, a semiconductor distribution and set-top box manufacturing company, is entering the “AI mental care” business that analyzes mental health conditions using artificial intelligence (AI). The company plans to enhance its assessment system in collaboration with hospitals and pursue overseas expansion by linking with global medical networks.

Homecast announced on the 27th that it will promote the AI mental care booth “Mind Station (tentative name)” business based on the hardware manufacturing capabilities and supply chain management experience accumulated in its existing semiconductor business. Mind Station is a system that analyzes users’ voice, speech content, and video information. It is designed as a closed, independent booth that can accommodate one person, taking user privacy into account.

Inside the booth, stress analysis based on facial expressions (emotions) and voice signals, as well as condition analysis based on heart rate variability (HRV), is conducted. Depending on the analysis results, customized content is provided, and the function of linking users to medical institution consultations and examinations, if necessary, will be expanded in stages. A company representative said, “We verified our assessment system through collaboration with medical specialists, including Seoul National University Hospital,” adding, “We have strengthened our security framework to protect sensitive medical and personal information, including compliance with AI ethical guidelines.”

To further enhance service reliability, the company is also pursuing collaboration with medical professionals. It is currently discussing a strategic alliance with a hospital group that has domestic and overseas medical networks. Mind Station is expected to be used in hospitals, health checkup centers, corporations, and public institutions.

The company will promote a monthly subscription-type AI analysis service (SaaS) alongside booth sales and rentals. Separately, it also plans to enter the enterprise AI agent platform business. This will take the form of supporting the configuration and operation, without coding (no-code), of AI functions that perform customer consultation, automation of repetitive in-house tasks, and data analysis. Corporate clients will pay initial setup costs and a monthly subscription fee, with additional charges applied when they select extra functions. A Homecast representative said, “We will cultivate the AI business as a new growth axis based on the cash flow from our existing semiconductor business,” and added, “We will expand the business through a subscription model and maximize shareholder value.”
