LG AI Research has unveiled its independently developed artificial intelligence (AI) model “K-Exaone.” K-Exaone is the only model from outside the United States and China to rank within the global top 10 in AI performance evaluations.

According to LG AI Research on the 11th, K-Exaone scored 32 points in the Intelligence Index assessment conducted by Artificial Analysis, a global AI performance evaluation agency, ranking seventh worldwide. Among the top 10, six models were from China and three from the United States, with K-Exaone the only entry from Korea.

K-Exaone is reported to have ranked first among the five elite teams participating in the first-round evaluation of the government’s independent AI foundation model project, recording an average score of 72 across 13 benchmark tests. In particular, it took first place in 10 out of the 13 test categories.
