SK Group plans to share South Korea's artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and vision at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in October 2025. SK Group announced on the 28th that it will host the 'Future Tech Forum AI,' a side event of the APEC CEO Summit, at the Munmu Hall of Gyeongju Expo Grand Park in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, on October 28. The Future Tech Forum is an official side event of the CEO Summit held prior to the APEC Summit, covering various fields such as AI, defense, and distribution. Among these, SK Group will lead the AI sector.

Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group (pictured), plans to propose strategies for establishing a sustainable AI ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific region during his keynote speech. Ha Jung-woo, Senior Secretary for AI Future at the Presidential Office, will also attend to share South Korea's experience in fostering the AI ecosystem, while domestic and international corporate and academic experts will gather to explore AI strategies and industrial development directions for APEC member countries.

On the same day, the 'K-Tech Showcase' will be held at the outdoor special hall of Gyeongju Expo Grand Park. In this exhibition, showcasing future technologies of major Korean companies, SK Group will present an AI data center solution that integrates the AI capabilities of its affiliates in semiconductors, cooling, operations, and security. SK Telecom, SK Gas, SK AX, and SK Broadband recently collaborated with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the largest data center in South Korea, set to operate in Ulsan by 2027. SK Hynix has developed the next-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM) 'HBM4' and established a mass production system, while SK Innovation is preparing a large-scale power supply base necessary for AI data centers, including liquefied natural gas (LNG), energy storage systems (ESS), renewable energy, and small modular reactors (SMR).

SK Group also plans to hold the second SK AI Summit this year. Scheduled for November 3 and 4 at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, this summit will bring together SK Group and domestic and international AI companies to share the latest trends and technologies in academia and the AI ecosystem. An SK Group representative stated, "Taking the opportunity of APEC, we will share the national AI ecosystem strategy with the world and showcase the value-creating AI ecosystem that SK has built across all areas from semiconductors to energy and services."
