Yuhan Corporation announced on the 19th that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new plant at the Osong 2nd Life Science Complex in Cheongju, Chungbuk on the 18th.

The event was attended by key figures including Yuhan Corporation employees and officials from the construction company Beomil Construction.

The new plant will have a total floor area of 16,593㎡ (approximately 5,019 pyeong) and will be built with one basement level and three above-ground floors. It aims for completion by December 2026 and will feature a manufacturing line capable of producing up to 700 million tablets of oral solid dosage forms annually.

Yuhan Corporation plans to maximize production efficiency by linking the existing Ochang plant with the new Osong plant. Based on this, the company intends to expand collaboration with domestic and international pharmaceutical companies and develop the Osong new plant into a strategic production hub of global standards.

The new plant is designed to meet global Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards by applying the latest automation systems and precise environmental control technologies. This will establish a smart manufacturing environment that can secure both production efficiency and quality competitiveness.

A Yuhan Corporation representative stated, “The Osong new plant is designed to meet advanced GMP standards,” adding, “It is expected to play an important role in strengthening the company's production competitiveness and securing a growth foundation in the future.”
