Sangsang Bio, a specialized OEM company for health functional foods, announced on the 16th that it has been finally selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Profit Growth Baby Unicorn' fostering project. This achievement is significant as it demonstrates the company's value through its own sales growth without external investment.

The 'Baby Unicorn Fostering Project' is a program that discovers and supports startups with the potential to become preliminary unicorns with a corporate value of over KRW 100 billion. It selected 20 companies nationwide through evaluations of technological capability and profit growth potential. Selected companies receive various customized support benefits, including △up to KRW 300 million in competitiveness enhancement funds △guarantee support of up to KRW 5 billion △growth strategy diagnosis △overseas expansion support △consulting for technology special listing, among others.

Sangsang Bio, in its fifth year since establishment, is the only health functional food manufacturer among the companies selected this year. It has introduced the country's first 'Quick OEM Platform,' providing one-stop service for small-scale production of multiple products. Based on an R&D team composed of experts such as pharmacists and doctors, it possesses the industry's largest scale of patented raw materials. By lowering the production and distribution entry barriers faced by sellers, from research and development to formulation design and minimum production quantity, it contributes to the growth of the domestic health functional food industry.

Additionally, Sangsang Bio goes beyond simple OEM and ODM production by offering the 'Quickstarter Academy Beginner Course' for prospective entrepreneurs and small-scale sellers free of charge, providing basic manufacturing knowledge and practical know-how. On the 26th, it will hold an 'Overseas Expansion Strategy Seminar' with Amazon Korea and Alibaba.com to support the expansion of global distribution channels for domestic sellers.

Based on its experience producing over 1,000 types of products over the past five years, it plans to expand customized manufacturing solutions for sellers preparing for overseas expansion. For this purpose, it newly constructed the Dangjin Plant No. 1 in May this year and completed FDA registration along with the Hwasun Plant No. 2. It is currently pursuing SQF and cGMP certifications.
